What is an Employee Assistance Program?
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is designed to help employees and their families identify, assess and resolve issues that may be affecting the employee's job performance. The EAP is available to the employee and/or anyone in the employee's immediate family who is living in the employee's home. The program allows for up to three individual counseling sessions per each employee family unit per year at no cost to the employee. The EAP also offers wellness education seminars that are designed to target specific workplace problems or issues and telephonic consultations.

Who provides this service?
Avante Behavioral Health Plan (ABHP) provides the EAP. ABHP is a specialty health plan licensed to provide behavioral health services. A quality network of psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, and marriage and family counselors provides services.

Who can use this EAP?
Any employee and his/her eligible household members are eligible to receive care.

How do I use this service?
Simply, call ABHP at 559.261.9053 when you or a family member needs counseling service. As assessment specialist will conduct an initial screening interview via telephone to determine eligibility for services and to make a referral to an appropriate clinician. An appointment will be arranged within one to three days, depending on the nature and urgency of the request.

Is this EAP confidential?
Absolutely! ABHP is ethically obligated to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality. ABHP is dedicated to providing confidential services to ensure quality mental health benefits. All information is privileged in accordance with the psychotherapist-patient privilege.
